Notes: A New Substack Experience
A new place to engage with content in short-form
Substack has recently launched it’s new Substack Notes feature as part of its app experience. It will certainly be compared to Twitter in many ways since it is designed to be a social experience where short-form content is shared. However, I think there are some basic differences that will probably limit the viral potential of any given Note. Let’s hope that it also keeps the median discourse level more elevated and thoughtful than at Twitter, though this will also mean it won’t be a place for following current events and news or for curating a feed with similar types of content.
Here’s a look at how I am using Notes:
Notes is a new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress or quick questions.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Holodoxa, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Holodoxa can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
